Queensland’s pool safety laws were introduced in 2009 and apply to all pools, new and existing. You must comply with the pool safety standard by 30 November 2015, not just because you are selling.
Keeping Your Family Safe. MEC Builders Pool Fencing Inspections is an independent safety inspection company that can give an unbiased appraisal as to whether or not your pool safety barrier meets the current laws and complies with the relevant Australian standards, Queensland laws.
MEC Builders Pool Fence Inspections can issue a compliance certificate that is required when a property has a pool or spa. MEC Builders Fence Inspections can also give the required certifications when rental properties are tenanted.
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is responsible for pool safety inspector licensing, compliance and disciplinary functions.
Pool Safety Register
All pools (and spas) in Queensland must be fenced and registered on the pool safety register.
The pool safety register includes a record of pools in Queensland, pool safety certificates issued and a list of all licensed pool safety inspectors.
